Patrol Bureau

The Patrol Bureau is the largest and most visible component of the agency often tasked with providing the initial response to calls for service. Patrol deputies and district commanders are on the front lines of upholding our first core value – merit and maintain the public’s trust. The Bureau is dedicated to protecting Harris County residents and property, preserving the peace, preventing and investigating crime, and enforcing all state and local laws with honor and professionalism.

The Patrol Bureau works collaboratively with other agency divisions to help develop effective methods and strategies to respond to the needs of the community. The move to a greater reliance on data analysis to understand crime and traffic patterns, as well as patterns of victimization, allows district commanders to assess specific operational techniques and focus on better serving and engaging residents.
