It is the policy of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to treat all persons, whether in custody or not, in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner while maintaining safety and security. Discrimination or harassment of any kind based on sexual orientation or gender identity is strictly prohibited.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to promote a positive relationship between HCSO staff and the LGBTQI community.

Complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and/or the establishment of a hostile work environment may be submitted to the LGBTQI Unit by contacting (713) 542-4156 or emailing LGBTQIConcerns@sheriff.hctx.net.
