Precision Driving Course

Harris County currently does not have a dedicated precision driving course for law enforcement training. Yet, officers and first responders spend much of their time in vehicles, and many injuries and fatalities involve vehicle-related incidents.

This new Precision Driving Course will be used by multiple agencies, including HCSO, the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Harris County Constable’s Offices, Precincts 1–8. Training will cover a wide range of scenarios, such as pursuits, felony stops, and adverse weather conditions. The course will include a cone course pad, a simulated urban street driving area, a precision driving track, and classroom and support facilities.
